2025 Executive Leadership Board

The ISOO Executive Board comprises dedicated leaders in the field of ocular oncology who work collaboratively to advance the society’s mission of promoting excellence in research, education, and clinical care worldwide. Guided by the principles outlined in the ISOO bylaws, the Executive Leadership Board supports the society's initiatives to foster international collaboration, enhance equitable access to care, and drive innovation in ocular oncology. The Executive Committee is committed to ensuring that ISOO remains a leading voice in addressing the challenges and opportunities within the field.

President: Jesse Berry, MD

The President of ISOO leads the Society by overseeing its activities, representing the organization in international forums, and ensuring its objectives of advancing ocular oncology are met. The President also chairs the Business Meeting and collaborates with other Officers to set the strategic direction of the Society.

Dr. Jesse L. Berry is the Chief of Opthalmology and Director of Ocular Oncology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and holds the A. Linn Murphree, MD, Chair in Ocular Oncology. A Professor of Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, she is a pioneer in developing aqueous humor liquid biopsy techniques for retinoblastoma. Dr. Berry completed her medical training at Harvard, followed by an ophthalmology residency at USC and a fellowship at CHLA. A dedicated mentor and educator, she founded Women in Ocular Oncology (WOO) and has been a leader within ISOO, including serving as its President in 2024. Dr. Berry’s work continues to advance ocular oncology through innovation, mentorship, and international collaboration.

Honorary Secretary: Professor Didi Fabian

The Honorary Secretary manages the Society's correspondence, maintains meeting minutes, and ensures communication among ISOO’s members. This role is vital for the organization’s administrative operations and member engagement.

Professor Didi Fabian, an esteemed pediatric and adult ocular oncologist, is the Honorary Secretary of ISOO. Dedicated to advancing global eye care, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), Prof. Fabian played a pivotal role in the Global Retinoblastoma Studies and the ISOO AFRICA 2023 meeting, the first held in Africa. He has led transformative initiatives, including the Retinoblastoma Network, the Afghanistan-Pakistan RB “Silk Road” Project, and the introduction of intra-arterial chemotherapy in Nigeria. Prof. Fabian has been actively involved with ISOO since 2014, leading the Young Ocular Oncologists (YOO) group and contributing to the ISOO International Collaborations and Named Grants Committees. As Honorary Secretary, he is committed to fostering equity in ocular oncology by supporting LMICs, strengthening international partnerships, and bridging healthcare disparities, ensuring ISOO continues to advance its mission globally.

Vice President: Dr. Santosh G. Honavar

The Vice President of ISOO supports the President in all duties, chairs meetings in the President's absence, and assists in advancing the Society's goals. The Vice President is also actively involved in developing initiatives and fostering collaborations.

Dr. Santosh G. Honavar, a globally recognized expert in ocular oncology, is the Vice President of ISOO. After completing his fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, he established India’s first Ocular Oncology service at LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad and now leads the Ocular Oncology and National Retinoblastoma Foundation at the Centre for Sight. Dr. Honavar has trained over 80 fellows, published nearly 400 papers with over 15,500 citations, and serves on the ICD and AJCC committees. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Lifetime Achievement Award. As Vice President, Dr. Honavar brings a vision to advance ocular oncology through innovative research, technology-driven training, cost-effective care, and global collaboration.

Treasurer: Dr. Lauren Dalvin

The Treasurer oversees ISOO’s financial health, including managing funds, preparing financial reports, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. This role is critical in supporting the Society’s operations and initiatives.

Dr. Lauren Dalvin, an accomplished ophthalmologist and researcher, is the Treasurer of ISOO. An active ISOO member for over five years, she brings extensive leadership experience from roles with ARVO, Women in Ophthalmology, the Pan-American Ocular Oncology Society, and the American Association of Ophthalmic Oncologists and Pathologists. Dr. Dalvin oversees a research laboratory funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense, where she manages budgets, salaries, and compliance with funding requirements. Her financial expertise, combined with her organizational skills and dedication, ensures she is well-prepared to support ISOO’s financial health and long-term success in advancing ocular oncology.

Program Secretary: Dr. Prithvi Mruthyunjaya

The Program Secretary organizes ISOO’s Regular Meetings, working with the Executive Council to plan the scientific program and ensure the success of the Society’s flagship events.

Dr. Prithvi Mruthyunjaya, an internationally renowned ophthalmologist specializing in ocular oncology and vitreoretinal surgery, is the Program Secretary of ISOO. He serves as Professor of Ophthalmology and, by courtesy, of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University, where he directs the Ocular Oncology Service at the Byers Eye Institute. Dr. Mruthyunjaya completed his medical education at Albany Medical College, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology and a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Duke University, with further specialization in Ocular Oncology at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. His expertise includes managing ocular melanoma, retinoblastoma, ocular lymphoma, and complex retinal diseases. An active researcher, Dr. Mruthyunjaya has advanced the fields of ocular cancer imaging, genetics, and biopsy techniques through numerous high-impact publications. As Program Secretary, he brings his clinical excellence, academic leadership, and dedication to collaborative research to ISOO’s mission of advancing ocular oncology worldwide.
